This one’s a couple years old, but that doesn’t make it less awesome. Grand Teton NP, August 2010.

In case you didn’t see the posts from last Saturday’s trip to the mountains… Adventures on Earth

In case you didn’t see the posts from last Saturday’s trip to the mountains… Adventures on Earth

Perhaps you missed my posts from Alaska. Perhaps you didn’t realize I was back. Perhaps you didn’t notice I left. Perhaps you should go to Adventures on Earth and fill yourself in. Perhaps.
This photo was taken from a four-seater Cessna at 11,000 feet, flying above the Wrangell mountains in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. It was incredible.

173 years ago today, John Muir was born. Muir was pretty much awesome, hiking all over the place, writing about his travels and experiences, and helping set up the National Parks that I love so much. Thanks, John.

In honor of his 173rd birthday, I’ve made these wallpapers, each with a Muir quote over one of my photos. To download one or all of them, click here.

Don’t forget that this week is National Park Week. Free entry everywhere. Go. Enjoy. See what Muir saw.
